I was having a lovely dream this morning. You know, the casual dreams about building the Eiffel Tower in the back garden with your friends? Yeah. One of those dreams.
It was all going so smoothly. We had the four legs constructed, and were about to move onto the main body of scaffolding when disaster struck. In real life, the post had arrived. And we had a very noisy post alarm – our little dog.
Dream over, I went downstairs to try and salvage what was left – Sooty doesn’t like the post an awful lot. Thank god, he’d targetted the leaflet, and not this lovely pink envelope addressed to me!
Polagram is a French based printing company with an app, aptly called Polagram, which you can use to print photos directly from your phone. They offer multiple different services, including Polaroid style prints and phone cases. As you can see, I went for the Polaroid print.
In all honesty, I was dubious at first, wondering whether the shipping would take ages, or the prints would be decent quality. I was also a little worried that they wouldn’t survive Sooty, and his hatred for anything that comes through the letter box.
Safe to say, I was impressed. For printing and shipping from France, it took four days, and it only cost just over £1. They shipped it on priority mail, which ensured I’d get it quickly, and that’s their standard shipping.
Quality wise, it could’ve been a little better, as some were blurry, but I feel like better quality might’ve diminished the Polaroid feel. Probably down to the pictures nearly all being taken with a front facing iPhone camera as well. It’s not exactly a 27 MP camera!
The cute little extras were what sold me though. The pink envelope was a nice touch, and they sent a pretty piece of paper as well with instructions for making an origami Scotty Dog. I’m stuck on step 6 out of 7. I might have given up.
All in all, I love them.
If you’re looking for Polaroid style prints without the price of a Polaroid camera and all the special printing paper, and the fear of it possibly going wrong, or if you want all you old photos to look like your newer, Polaroid pics, I’d definitely recommend Polagram.
